Eligibility for Membership
An invitation to apply may be extended to persons who are lineally descended from a Virginia ancestor who paid the 1704 Virginia Quit Rents, sheriffs, and constables who collected the Quitrents, the Governour and Vice-Governour of Virginia, and The Lords Fairfax and Culpeper Virginia. 1704 Membership is open to eligible persons, sixteen years of age or older, who are in support of the Society's Constitution and Bylaws.

Upon receipt of required fees and verification of an application by the current Registrar, a lineally descended applicant of qualifying Virginia ancestor shall be granted full membership status with the privilege of voice, vote, and holding office for the remainder of his or her life notwithstanding any genealogical allegations tendered by persons inside or outside the Society at any time in the past or future.
